The quality of Stevie's vocals and the way she articulates evoke fond memories of Dolores O'Riordan's songs for me. In "Breathing", she puts on display her compellingly expressive higher register, with candid, diaristic lyrics, all of which I find easy to relate to, serving as her vehicle. Moreover, the guitar-riff intervals connecting the verses to the choruses contain this bright, anticipatory and nostalgic energy, making them really easy to love. I look forward to more tracks like this.
